OpenStoryTellers
Cognition and learning, Communication and interaction, Life skills, Training and employmentDescription
OpenStoryTellers supports people with learning disabilities to find their voice and use it.
OpenStoryTellers is a charity that works to enrich and empower the lives of people who have learning disabilities and autism. We do this through varied work around the telling and sharing of stories, including personal narrative as well as classic stories, using a collaborative approach.
We believe that stories play a major role in building relationships and a personal sense of identity, sharing experience and helping people to participate in society.
Based in our Community Hub in the heart of Frome, Somerset, our work includes work skills and employment support, advocacy and citizenship groups, friendship and life skills projects, multi-sensory storytelling for people with profound disabilities.
