GROVE Neurodivergent Mentoring and Education
Communication and interaction, Social, emotional and mental health difficultiesDescription
GROVE is a genuinely neuro-affirming, online community for Autistic young people in the UK. We are proudly Autistic ADHD led and Autistic staffed meaning we are positive role models for Autistic young people with relatable lived experience.
We are also all specialists in autism with deep knowledge of Autistic experience, current theory and practice and a firm rejection of the medical model framing of autism.
We support young people by enabling opportunities to gain self-understanding, create connections with others and develop a sense of belonging by providing a much-needed safe space for Autistic young people to be their authentic selves.
Services:
- Mentoring: Connect with an Autistic Mentor – a safe person to support and guide.
- Social Groups: Connect with peers and form part of a happy, authentic community.
- Interest-based Groups: Connect with peers over a shared interest.
- ‘Autistic Identity’ programmes: Make sense of what it means to be ‘Autistic’ in a way that is meaningful to the young person.
All Mentors have been through a process of Safer Recruitment and are safeguarding trained.
