Description

We provide inclusive, creative, improvisation-based music workshops, projects and training for young people and adults with learning disabilities. We aim to increase social interaction and involvement in community life for young and disadvantaged people. Our work emphasises the process of playing. To us, everyone is musical. We are running the All Stars project, which brings young people of different abilities together to meet, learn and converse through music, using improvisation and instant composition. The core team are young musicians with learning disabilities. Through workshops, mentoring and training, All Stars offers powerful, experiential learning for young musicians of all abilities, schools and professionals. This is a west country project centred on Somerset. All Stars East is based at Wells Museum, Cathedral Green, Wells. The All Stars music leaders are Jane Harwood, Alex Lupo and Russ Stanley. Geoff Stow is volunteer musician and expert by experience.
