Bridgwater Parent Support Group
Cognition and learning, Communication and interaction, Sensory and/or physical needs, Social, emotional and mental health difficulties, Support groupDescription
Bridgwater Parent Support Group is a volunteer run support group based in Bridgwater, Somerset, for the parents and carers of children and young people with additional needs and disabilities.
This is a chance for parents to share information and experiences over coffee and biscuits. If you have only just found out that your child has special needs or if you have been living with a diagnosis for years, it is always good to talk to others in your situation and to feel that you are not alone.
It can be extremely difficult coming to terms with your child’s extra needs and a lot of parents have to deal with the same situations, the same types of professionals, the same day to day struggles whatever your child’s situation may be. We all need to feel that there is someone who understands, and our group of parents are always there to lend an ear.
We sometimes invite various professionals to come and attend our mornings, both to meet parents informally and to discuss issues of general interest.
They have a Bridgwater Parent/Carer Support Group Facebook page where they advertise which services are visiting each month.
