Bold & Brave Cafe
Independent living, Leisure, Life skills, Training and employmentDescription
Bold & Brave run the Café at Taunton Library. It not only provides (reasonably priced) hot and cold drinks, cakes, pastries, cream teas, paninis, and savory snacks, but also offers opportunities, training, and qualifications to local young people. Young people working and volunteering in the café will receive barista training, as well as specialist support to improve their confidence, communication, and further work-place skills. Bold & Brave will also work alongside other local businesses to enable smooth transitions for these young people into paid employment in the hospitality industry. We are also teaming up with local suppliers such as Brazier Coffee Roaster from Wellington and Dough Bakers in Taunton, to provide quality, local food, and drinks.
Volunteering and Work Experience Placements
At Bold & Brave we are focussed on providing opportunities to young people, particularly those who are not in education, employment or training. If you would like to complete a work experience placement or volunteer at our café or shop, we would love to hear from you.
You will be supported to:
- Undertake relevant training, skills building and workplace development. This includes barista training at the café
- Develop whatever you feel may be holding you back, whether this is anxiety, lack of confidence, struggles with communication, or more
- Be part of a supportive, caring, young people focussed team
- Find ongoing employment or training
Type of provision
Universal - This is for everyone, including people with special educational needs and disabilities
