Blue badge and disabled parking
Transport and mobilityDescription
A blue badge helps people with severe walking difficulties who travel as drivers or passengers, to park close to their destination in on-street parking and some car parks. The scheme is also for people who are severely sight impaired and from 30 August 2019, for people with hidden disabilities including autism and mental health conditions.
The charge for a blue badge is £10.
While there is a small charge for a Blue Badge, there is no charge to apply.
Please be aware that there are some organisations and websites which offer a service to help you apply and they will charge you for this help. You don’t need to use a service like that.
Type of provision
Specialist - This is for a small group of people with significant special educational needs and disabilities and their families
