Bipolar UK Youth Service
Health and wellbeing, Information, advice and guidance, Social, emotional and mental health difficulties, Support groupDescription
All Bipolar UK services are designed to support both people directly affected by mental health issues and their carers and families too.
Whilst the charity was formed to deliver support to those directly affected by bipolar, we recognise that for many young people diagnosis may be some way off. Therefore we welcome contact from young people and families who may have enquires about mood disorders and think that they may be beginning to display some signs of symptoms of a bipolar type illness.
Families of young people under the age of 16 can talk to our specialist advisor here in Newport using the contact number below and we can offer ongoing support and advice to help them find any answers they need or to signpost them on to relevant services.
For young people aged 16 to 25 we have a youth service which provides the following options:
Email and telephone support
You can talk to us on 0333 323 4459 or email youth@bipolaruk.org
Support Groups
Our Support Groups are a great way to meet others and talk about your experiences in a safe and supportive space. You can find your nearest group here. 16 to 17 year olds will need parental/carer consent to attend the support groups.
Online support in our eCommunity
Our eCommunity has a dedicated area for people aged 16 to 25. It’s free to join and is available 24 hours a day.
One to one support
This year in Cardiff we are able to offer one to one support which can be delivered face to face, via telephone or email. This is built around a simple goal focussed model and enables service users to have a named contact who will work with them over an agreed time period to help them to move forward.
