Description

A rural school situated on the Mendip Hills, we are very fortunate to have access to a forest, a river valley at Ashwick Grove and a hill fort at Maesbury to bring learning alive. Outside learning and Forest School are an important part of our curriculum which is skills and enquiry based. Oakhill is a school based on a strong Christian ethos in which service, love and stewardship are understood by all and promoted through the School Council and Green Team. We value our links with all the local churches and our vicar the Reverend Richard. On occasions we learn in house groups to encourage children of all ages to work together. Our school is split into 4 houses each named after a local cave; Brownes, Challenger, Fernhill and Springfield. Prospective parents can find out more about the school in the About Us section, but should you wish to visit, we would be delighted to meet you. The school provides an environment in which learners are able to learn through experience, take risks and learn from each other. You will hear much laughter and see children engaged in their learning in every part of the school.
