The Yeovil branch of Mind in Somerset, the mental health charity, has been selected as Yeovil Crematorium’s Charity of Choice, receiving £14,000 towards the charity’s invaluable work in supporting anyone affected by mental illness.

Raised through the Recycling of Metals Scheme, a not-for-profit scheme run by the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management (ICCM), funds are donated by ICCM members, in this case Yeovil Crematorium, to national and local charities of the member’s choice.

John Ranger, Specialist Operations Manager at Yeovil Crematorium, commented:

Through the ICCM’s scheme, we are delighted that Mind in Yeovil are the recipients of this donation and are proud to support them as a local charity whose work directly benefits our local community.

Out of difficult and sad circumstances, with the consent of bereaved relatives, we are also able to ensure that metals are safely and sustainably reclaimed, preventing land contamination and reducing our environmental impact.”
