Every Somerset resident has a chance to win 6 all-weekend tickets worth up to £380 for a popular local music festival by finding special pebbles hidden around the county.

100 specially stickered competition pebbles have been hidden in publicly accessible spaces all around Somerset. The lucky ‘finders’ enter a draw to win tickets to the family-friendly Home Farm Fest in Chilthorne Domer near Yeovil from 9 to 11 June 2023. The competition closes at midnight on 28 May 2023.

Both Somerset Council and Home Farm Fest are working to help disadvantaged children – whether here or abroad. Somerset Council is raising awareness of the need for foster carers to look after the county’s children here in Somerset, promoting Anna’s Story – a 40 second video which highlights the challenges and rewards of fostering. In the last 19 years, Home Farm Fest’s annual music festival has raised over half a million pounds for the charity ‘School in a Bag’, which distributes education resources to orphaned, disadvantaged and disaster-affected children worldwide.

Lead Member for Children, Families & Education at Somerset Council, Cllr Tessa Munt, said:

“The pebble competition is a good fun way to encourage local people to explore our beautiful county, with the added bonus of a chance to win tickets to a fantastic Somerset event, whilst raising the profile of fostering and our need for more foster carers locally.”

Competition pebbles feature two weatherproof stickers and can be identified by the pawprint image and fostering logo. Pebbles also feature a QR code and web address, linking to a competition page. Hopeful entrants need to watch the Anna’s Story film before entering their details in the free prize draw.

If you’re lucky enough to find a pebble, share a photo on social media using the hashtag #AnnasStory to help others in their search. There are hints and tips about pebble locations on the Fostering in Somerset Facebook and Instagram pages.
