In preparation for the upcoming general election, Dame Rachel de Souza, the Children’s Commissioner for England, has developed a resource specifically designed for children and young people: What is a General Election? Resource for children and young people

This resource aims to enhance their understanding of the general election process. As Children’s Commissioner, Rachel is deeply committed to ensuring that children and young people have a platform to express their voices, even if they are not eligible to vote.

The resource provides clear explanations of essential political terms, outlines the general election procedures, and sheds light on the roles of Members of Parliament (MPs).

For an Easy Read breakdown on the Parties different policies,  take a look at United Response’s Easy Read on General Election Party Policies at https://www.unitedresponse.org.uk/resource/easynews-party-comparison/

They have written a summary of the top policies from each party, that shows where each party stands on each policy.
