Seven education settings have been involved in the Autism in Schools project over the last 6 months. These settings have collected feedback from families about their experiences and used to this make changes to their offers. All staff in the settings have also received training from the Autism Education Trust to help them further develop their skills in supporting Neurodiverse students.

We are delighted to be able to share the report on the work so far with you and the impact that has been seen so far. You can find this on Somerset’s SEND Local Offer. The project continues into the first half of the Autumn term, and we will let you know when the final report is available.

We have 43 primary schools signed up for the Partnership for Inclusion of Neurodiversity in schools (PINS) project. These school will receive 5 days of support to enhance the offer for Neurodiverse children in their schools. The Somerset Parent Carer Forum will be running a session for parents at the school each half term during the project (September to March). You can find out more information on the Local Offer.
