Somerset Council’s highways team are repairing a section of Station Road in Ilminster later this month.
The work will be carried out on the B3168 from the Southfields roundabout to the roundabout on Station Road.
The work is due to start on Thursday 22 June and should be completed on Friday 30 June, although work will not take place on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 June. The road will be closed between 6pm and 7am on weekdays so the work can be completed. This evening closure is to ensure that the workforce remain safe, but also to minimise disruption during peak hours.
Councillor Mike Rigby, Somerset Council’s Executive Lead Member for Transport and Digital said: “As we get further into summer, our resurfacing programme is critically important to the long-term health of our network.
“While there may be some short-term disruption as this work takes place, we have ensured that it remains open at weekends and during peak hours so that this important work in Ilminster can be done safely and efficiently.”
Access for residents and businesses in the immediate area will be maintained throughout and a diversion will be in place, with full details available nearer the time on www.somerset.gov.uk/roads-travel-and-parking/roadworks-and-travel/.
