Phase A of the North Taunton Woolaway Project (NTWP) has won Insider’s South West Residential Property Awards for affordable housing.

An awards evening took place in Exeter on 18 April which revealed NTPW as the winners against seven other shortlisted projects. Judges were impressed with the high level of community engagement, alongside the impressive tenant feedback.

The project has also been shortlisted for Michelmores Property Awards for Residential Project of the Year (36 homes and over).

Somerset Council submitted applications for both awards earlier this year which included a tour of the NTWP site for judges of the Michelmores award.

Cllr Federica Smith-Roberts, Lead Member for Communities, Housing and Culture, said:

“We’re grateful that the NTWP has been shortlisted for these regional awards, and we’re incredibly honoured to win the Affordable Housing Award!

“The homes we’ve built not only provide residents with high-quality, affordable housing but balance sustainability and innovation. The properties are designed to care for the environment whilst benefitting the local community long term.

“Winning against seven other worthy projects is something the team and I are very proud of and is testament to their hard work and dedication.”
