There’s just one week left until eligible voters in the Somerton and Frome constituency head to polling stations to cast their ballot in the Parliamentary by election.

Poll cards have been issued and make it clear that voters must provide photographic ID to vote in person at a polling station. Please remember to bring ID if you are voting in person. Those without acceptable photo ID will be turned away – they can return if they can provide appropriate ID.

People who applied for the free Voter Authority Certificate should remember to bring that document to the polling station.

Acceptable forms of ID include a passport, driving licence, or older person’s bus pass. You can still use your photo ID if it’s out of date, as long as it looks like you and the name on your ID is the same name you used to register to vote.

The full list of accepted Voter ID is available on the Electoral Commission website along with more information about the requirement.
