The directors of Somerset Parent Carer Forum are delighted to announce that the chair of the steering group, Tina Emery, has been awarded an OBE in the birthday honours list for her services to children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Tina has been a member of the Somerset forum since 2014 and has worked to ensure the voices of families are heard locally, regionally, and nationally.

Tina said she is “very pleased and shocked” that she received an OBE in the King’s Birthday Honours list for the work she has done in special educational needs and disabilities. “I couldn’t have done it without the parent carers that I have met and the Somerset forum, regional and national forum teams.” Congratulations Tina!
