Over the next few weeks, Somerset Council will be installing an additional 685 metres of paths at the Stockmoor and Wilstock Country Park, which will complement the paths already on site.
These paths allow all-weather access between the following locations:
- Campion Way/Wilstock Way with existing paths leading to Stockmoor
- Rhode Lane to Wills Road and its amenities
- Rhode Lane into Wilstock via Lilliana Way.
This project supports our wider aims to link The Meads Eco-Park with the Country Park to increase walking and cycling opportunities away from roads.
Councillor Federica Smith-Roberts, Lead Member for Communities, Housing and Culture said:
The Country Park provides a valuable recreational resource for local communities and important habitat for wildlife. It was provided by developers to offset housing development at Stockmoor and Wilstock Village. The site continues to evolve since its transfer to Somerset Council and the extra pathways will open up further opportunities for people to explore the site.
