Somerset Council’s highways teams are carrying out resurfacing work on Mount Street and Northgate this month.

The work is due to start on Monday 13 November and is expected to last for two working weeks; a temporary closure will be in place until Friday 24 November.

The road will be closed between 6:30pm and 11:30pm on weekdays during this period so the road can be resurfaced; the road will remain open on weekends and outside these times.

Councillor Mike Rigby, Somerset Council’s Executive Lead Member for Transport and Digital said:

Even though the summer has long passed, our resurfacing programme continues and moves to the centre of Bridgwater now.

We know this is a busy road, so we hope that doing this important work outside of peak hours will reduce the disruptive impact a closure can have – but please ensure you plan ahead.

Access for residents and businesses in the immediate area will be accommodated throughout although some delays can be expected. A diversion will be in place with full details available nearer the time on Roadworks and travel information webpage.
