We are encouraging young people across Somerset to scrutinise Somerset’s services through Youth Forum, where they can affect real change to the services that impact them.

Youth Forum is a youth-led forum, where we discuss the topics affecting children and young people across the county. All of the views of members are collected, and their voices shared, helping Somerset to be a safe, child friendly county that supports them to be happy, healthy and prepared for adulthood.

Over the past year Youth Forum have co-produced the Somerset Children and Young People’s Plan, the shared vision for Somerset’s services that support Somerset’s children and young people. Youth Forum will also hold services to account, making sure that they live up to the priorities mentioned in the plan.

Youth Forum is open to any young person who lives in Somerset aged 10-18 years (up to 25 years for SEND) and meets for an hour and a half meeting every month over Teams, where in addition to discussing important topics, we also play games and have quizzes.

If you are or if you know a young person who would be interested in joining Youth Forum please can you fill in our expression of interest form here or email participationmailbox@somerset.gov.uk.
