About Dowsborough area
The Dowsborough LCN consists of three electoral divisions (Bridgwater West, Cannington and Watchet/Stogursey), 15 parish councils and one parish meeting. A proportion of the LCN sits within the Quantock Protected Landscape, (formerly known as Outstanding Area of Natural Beauty). It features an Iron Age hill fort and round barrow and is a magnet for tourists . It has a population of just under 6,000 households and while there is no major town settlement, the Hinkley Point development site with over 10,000 workers is situated in the parish of Stogursey.
