About the Bridgwater area
Bridgwater LCN has the smallest number of parishes within an LCN area, consisting of two councils; Bridgwater Town Council and Bridgwater Without Parish Council.
Although comprising only of two local councils, membership of the LCN is varied and diversev and represents an amalgamated population of approximately 41,200 (800 in the Bridgwater Without Parish Council), the third highest of all the LCN areas.
Bridgwater Without includes Dunwear and Horsey. Dunwear is home to the Brick and Tile works, Dunwear ponds (a complex of four ponds and home to much wildlife) and also the famous Willow Man.
Bridgwater is a historic market town known as “the home of carnival” for its Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival. With canal, rail and motorway (M5) links to the rest of the country, Bridgwater has seen its fair share of economic growth.
