As you are aware, we have been having issues with our new Library Management System running slowly, crashing and generally not performing as we would expect.

I appreciate this is causing significant disruption in using our services and I would like to apologise to you for the negative impact this is having on your customer experience. The Somerset Libraries and the LibrariesWest teams are actively working on these issues and are in daily contact with our new supplier, to find solutions. This new system will allow us to deliver more features and improve the service to our customers over time.

Progress so far includes starting to restore the loan history. We are also in the process of reinstating the pre-overdue and overdue notifications. After that, text and email notifications for customer reservations will follow.

Looking for more information?

‘How to Guides’ in the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section of the LibrariesWest website are being added. These are based on requests from customers.

Some customers have asked for a guide on how to use the new ‘Wish Lists’ as they were keen to start using the new functionality.  If you have any questions or think a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) guide that would help, please let us know. We will review your suggestion as soon as we can.

You can contact us by email: LibrariesWest@somerset.gov.uk

Thank you for your continuing patience and understanding whilst we continue to implement and improve our new system.
