Some key information

  • The role will be based at County Hall in Taunton and offers hybrid working arrangements with working from home and some flexibility in working hours.
  • You will be entitled to 28 days annual leave.

What will I be doing?

We’re working to improve the lives of people in Somerset – and you’ll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:

  • Working with managers to improve financial controls
  • Identifying improvements and efficiencies, driving forward implementation
  • Analyse current year’s expenditure and advise on appropriate actions.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you:

  • Strong understanding of financial analysis and interpretation.
  • Understanding of budget monitoring and financial reporting processes.
  • Extensive experience in financial and budget monitoring.
