  • Flexible working available, using a hybrid model - working from home and your contracted work base which is Shape Mendip, Shepton Mallet.
  • Full time for 37 hours per week

What will I be doing?

We’re working to improve the lives of care leavers in Somerset – and you’ll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:

  • supporting care leavers aged 16-25.
  • making sure care leavers have access to all their care leaver entitlements.
  • providing information, advice and guidance.
  • supporting care leavers to access services which will help them achieve their goals and live independently as young adults.
  • being part of a specialist team that supports asylum seeking young people and refugees alongside care leavers from Somerset.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. You will need;

  • experience of direct working with young people which would preferably include care leavers.
  • knowledge of child and adolescent development and needs of young people who are care experienced.
  • excellent recording skills and good organisational and time management skills.
  • an innovative and creative approach to engaging young people, some of whom may be resistant to intervention.
