What will I be doing?

We’re working to improve the lives of Children here in Somerset – and you’ll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:

  • supporting children, young people and their families and act as a keyworker in helping families to identify their strengths and challenges, and what could make the difference to them in achieving their very best family outcomes.
  • supporting a young person or a family in developing an action plan, and then in making the changes identified.
  • working alongside young people and families, so out of hours, evening and weekend working is necessary, on a rota basis.
  • working closely with other professionals and communities to provide effective support and get the best outcomes to avoid escalation.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

  • are passionate about working with children, young people and their families.
  • are able to quickly build up effective relationships based on trust and respect.
  • are robust, confident and resilient in your approach and able to engage with carers and families many of who will have complex needs.
  • are able to work as part of a team sharing best practice and new ideas in order to achieve the best possible outcomes for families across Somerset.

You will need to be able to travel to meet the requirements of this post and be available to work evenings and weekends on a rota basis.
