  • This role offers hybrid working, allowing you to work either from home or from one of our offices.
  • You will be entitled to 30 days’ annual leave (plus bank holidays)

What will I be doing?

We’re working to ensure the built environment in Somerset is safe and compliant for the people of Somerset – and you’ll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:

  • Having the autonomy of managing your own geographical area
  • Carrying out appraisals of Building Control applications to check for compliance with relevant regulations and legislation.
  • Carrying out site inspections on all projects in your area, working with clients, designers and contractors.

 

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you:

  • You must be a Registered Building Inspector with the Building Safety Regulator. To be considered for this role, you should be a minimum of, or working towards Class 2 registration status.
  • Have experience in Building Control, with the ability of applying the relevant requirements and taking any necessary action.
  • Have a degree level qualification or chartered status with either CABE, RICS or CIOB.
