- The Senior Commissioning Officer plays a pivotal role in shaping and delivering high-quality public health services that meet the needs of the community.
What will I be doing?
We’re working to improve the lives of people in Somerset – and you’ll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:
- Supporting the commissioning and procurement of public health services including oversight of procurement processes and contract management.
- Leading and facilitating work programmes with key stakeholder and partner organisations.
- Supporting market development and engagement across the breadth of public health services and support.
- This includes working with the NHS Provider Services Regulations for Public Health Services which meet its criteria as well as the new Procurement Act for those services which sit under these regulations.
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you have:
- In depth understanding of and experience of managing commissioning and procurement processes and their application.
- Awareness of statutory requirements and legal frameworks related to commissioning and procurement.
- Experience in engaging with stakeholders and managing relationships.
- A professional qualification in commissioning or procurement.
