What will I be doing?

Somerset’s Education Engagement Service works with Children, Families, Schools and support services to increase children’s attendance and engagement with education.

We’re working to improve the lives of Children in Somerset – and you’ll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:

  • Holding a caseload of children and young people, and work within a dynamic and innovative team.
  • Forging successful relationships with colleagues, school leaders and families alike.

Meeting with our school leaders to promote flexible strategies for improving attendance, and challenge where necessary.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you:

  • Are passionate about making sure children are accessing the education they are entitled to.
  • Are resilient when it comes to challenging barriers to attendance.
  • Can deliver to a high challenge/support model.
  • Possess strong communication

Experience in an education setting or supporting children and families would be an advantage. You should also have an appreciation of the importance of education to secure the best possible outcomes for our young children.
