Some key information

  • Three full time permanent positions available, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • One position based in each of the following locations; Bridgwater, Taunton and Yeovil.
  • £24,404 - £25,183 per annum.
  • 25 days annual leave, raising to 28 days after 5 years of service (excluding bank holidays).
  • The positions will be office based, with potential remote working from home offered once fully trained.

What will I be doing?

We’re working to improve the lives of people in Somerset – and you’ll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:

A range of administrative tasks supporting the Revenues and Benefits team.

Indexing and organising incoming and outgoing work items for the Revenues and Benefits team.

Allocating, organising and responding to various methods of customer contacts, including e-mail, online forms and telephone calls.

Dealing with the administration of Council Tax, Business Rates and Benefits administration, including the issuing of bills, notification letters and arranging payment plans.

Dealing with residents from all walks of life, relying on a natural ability to build a genuine rapport with our residents.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you:

Hold a GCSE in Maths and English, Grade 4/C or qualified by strong relevant experience.

Thrive on a challenge and tight deadlines.

Be resilient and able to adapt to changing priorities within the team.

Be tech-savvy and able to navigate several different computer systems at one time.

Have a can-do approach and be able to problem solve, whilst remaining positive and flexible, always.
