  • Take on a leading role within the Procurement Team

What will I be doing?

The Procurement team and conducts tenders for over £100,000 for goods and services and £500,000 for works. The role will involve:

  • Being a point of reference for internal services concerning any matters involving the sourcing of external suppliers.
  • Assisting services with the development of sourcing strategies.
  • Running competitive procedures for goods, services and works contracts under threshold and above threshold under the governance of the Procurement Act 2023. These are issued through our e-tendering system.
  • Conducting Direct Awards and Further Competition under frameworks.
  • Agreeing contract amendments and extensions.
  • Adhering to our internal governance and ensuring compliance with the Procurement Act, Public Contract Regulations and the Health Act (Provider selection Regime).

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you:

  • Have experience of public procurement both above and below the thresholds applicable to the legislation.
  • Knowledge of Public Contract Regulations 2015 and The Procurement Act 2023
  • Know your way around Microsoft 365 (especially Word and Excel) and are comfortable using databases.
  • Confident in dealing with officers and members, guiding them through the procurement processes.
  • Ideally CIPS qualified or progressing towards qualification.
