- The position is based at the Scientific Services Laboratory, Wellington.
- We operate a flexi-time system around core working hours, with 25 days of annual leave(plus bank holidays).
- Full training will be provided for the role, which requires a full driving licence.
- This is a permanent role.
What will I be doing?
We’re working to improve the lives of people here in Somerset – and you’ll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:
- Assisting with scientific investigations at a range of sites in the southwest, enabling clients to maintain their environmental compliance licences.
- Undertake laboratory based scientific analysis of samples received at the laboratory and report results.
- Move between teams as your skills develop to manage fluctuating workloads.
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you:
- A desire to work within the field of science.
- Some experience of working within a laboratory, possibly including knowledge of chemical analysis.
- GCSE or possibly A-Levels (or equivalent) in a science related subject (ideally Chemistry).
