What will I be doing?

An opportunity has arisen for an administrator to join Childrens Services, within the Education Engagement Service.      

The Education Engagement Service provides support and advice to schools around attendance as well as delivering the Local Authorities statutory responsibilities regarding poor attendance, Elective Home Education and Children missing from Education.  

Working within our established and dedicated administrative team, you will need to be a quick learner, adaptable, proactive, have good communication skills and be a great team player.  The ability to handle work of a confidential nature is an essential feature of the post.

A good range of ICT skills are essential, and we are looking for someone who is proficient in the use of Microsoft 365 and experience of using databases, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

 The role includes:

  • Data entry using a variety of platforms e.g. case management system
  • Processing a range of tasks and responding to queries received from parents, colleagues and external agencies
  • Extensive use of Microsoft Office 365 applications to process and monitor work, using Outlook, SharePoint and web platforms
  • Direct liaison with schools and other local authorities
  • Supervision of a Business Support Assistant or a lead role for a certain task or area of work

Anything else I should know?

This role is to cover maternity leave for 9 months, or earlier if the permanent post holder returns sooner. The salary for the role is Grade 14, ranging from £23,114 to £23,893 pro-rata, 37 hours per week. Please note that this is not a term-time only position.
