Purpose of the Processing: The council is required to process personal information about electoral candidates and their agents in order to register their candidacy and meet our legal obligations.

- Name
- Address
- Date of birth
- Signature
- Email address
- Phone number
- Expenses returns

Who the data might be shared with:
- Names and addresses of candidates are made available to the public (unless specifically requested otherwise)
- Agent information is made public for district level and above elections
- Electoral Commission
- Cabinet Office
- Returning Officer
How Long Will the Data be Kept For:
Data will be kept until the election period is finished and there has been no call for an election petition. Generally one year.
The declaration of results, which contains the candidate’s name, is made public permanently.
Expense returns either one or two years
