The Centre for Sustainable Energy supports people and organisations across the country to tackle the climate emergency and end the suffering caused by cold homes.

Alzheimer’s Society

British Legion

Citizens Advice Somerset

Citizens Advice Somerset is a member of the National Citizens Advice network. They provide free, confidential, and impartial advice. This means that you can be sure their advice is independent of any undue or commercial influence.

Their advisors are trained and qualified to provide advice on many issues including:

  • Debt and money
  • Housing
  • Family
  • Employment
  • Immigration
  • Discrimination
  • Help with food or fuel vouchers for those facing crisis due to financial hardship.

Domestic Abuse Service

Somerset Domestic Abuse provides information relating to domestic abuse and the services available across Somerset, including Somerset Council’s local confidential service, offering a range of specialist support to anyone who needs advice and help on domestic abuse.

Health connections

Health Connections is your GP practice social prescribing and health coaching team, supporting you with your health and wellbeing. You can see a Health Connector for a one-to-one appointment, join one of their groups, use their online directory to find out about support in your area, and find out about training and getting involved in your community.

Homefinder Somerset

Homefinder Somerset (homefindersomerset.co.uk)

Homefinder Somerset is a partnership between Somerset Council and housing associations with homes in Somerset. They work together to make finding an affordable home as simple and transparent as possible.

All council or housing association homes for rent in Somerset are advertised on Homefinder Somerset.  Please note that Somerset is the area covered by Somerset Council. It does not include the North Somerset council area, which includes Weston-Super-Mare, or the Bath and Northeast Somerset council area.

People who are registered with Homefinder Somerset can view the homes being advertised and tell us which homes they would like to be considered for. This is called bidding but does not involve any money.

The Somerset Dementia Service is a collaboration between dementia services who are working together to improve diagnosis, enhance support in the community and provide an excellent, consistent service for people with dementia and their carers in Somerset. This website is the digital home for dementia resources and services across the county; our aim is to make access to reliable, trusted dementia information as simple as possible for all.

Somerset Open Mental Health

Are you or someone you know experiencing difficulties with mental health? Open Mental Health is here to help. They offer support 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to ensure that people struggling with their mental health in Somerset can access the right support at the right time.

SSAFA

SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity (ssafa.org.uk)

The SSAFA supports both regulars and reserves in the Royal Navy, the Royal Marines, the British Army and the Royal Air Force and their families, including anyone who has completed National Service. They know and understand the unique demands of service life, whether in the UK or overseas, and in times of need, they will help to enable the Forces family to thrive.
