Community Food Cupboards
Food banks
Description
The food at the Food Cupboard is offered to the local community for free.
The boxes are outside of each address for people to use without an appointment. Food is donated by local retailers and members of the community. Food is always in date or has recently reached its ‘best before’ date (bread is a good example of this). Availability is contingent on donations and we will always post on Facebook if there is no food available.
Everyone is welcome and we don’t require proof of benefits etc for you to use The Cupboard. While the Cupboard’s primary objective is to reduce food waste, there are many families in our community who often rely on schemes like this to put food on the table, so please think of others and only take what you need, so as many people as possible can benefit.
The Cupboard is very grateful for donations via Paypal at yeovilwcc@gmail.com. Currently all of the running costs (diesel, cleaning products, boxes) are covered by 3 volunteers, so every little helps. Donations are not, and never will be, a condition of using The Cupboard.
We do not offer delivery of set aside items for collection later.
Location
52 Larkspur Crescent, Yeovil, BA21 3HP and is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 11am – 8pm.
53 Matthews Road, Yeovil, BA21 4JQ. This Cupboard is open on weekdays between 9am - 6pm.
52 Westfield Road, Yeovil, BA21 3DB. This Cupboard is open Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays 11am – 7pm.
