What is the Health and Wellbeing Advisory Network

Somerset’s Advisory Network was originally formed to communicate with and engage communities to prevent and control outbreaks of Covid-19. Its current broad membership has helped us to engage across Somerset’s geography with those communities particularly affected by Covid-19, such as older people, people with disabilities or long-term health conditions and ethnic minority communities.

We have now moved into a new phase of the Covid-19 pandemic, where Covid-19 is dealt with like other respiratory infections. The work of the Advisory Network remains as important as ever and the Somerset Council Public Health team, value the community connections and insights that the network continue to provide.

If you would like to help improve the health and wellbeing of your community by sharing Public Health messages and providing feedback about those you represent, please consider joining our network.

As a member of our Health and Wellbeing Advisory Network you will be asked to take part in regular research and consultations. You will receive a weekly newsletter with the latest on Public Health initiatives and news. Our purpose is to promote the work of Somerset’s Health and Wellbeing Board and together improve the lives of our residents.
