Somerset Council – working with the NHS to provide integrated care

The NHS is committed to making sure that your data is handled safely, securely and appropriately, and that you as an individual can make choices over the use of your confidential data.

The NHS in England is highlighting the value that your information brings to developing new treatments and services but recognises that not all individuals want their information used in this way. For that reason, you can opt out.

You can find full details on how information is used and protected and how you can choose to opt-out on Your NHS Data Matters

Somerset Overarching Information Sharing Protocol

This protocol sets key principles and standards for sharing personal data as defined by the European Union (EU) General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and information in any recorded form, including paper, electronic, audio and visual. This is to establish a framework for sharing of information across the health and social care community for the benefit of the people of Somerset.

This will ensure there is high level of governance for all participating agencies to refer to when establishing information sharing protocols for specific initiatives and activities.
