Purposes for processing

To receive Bookstart packs delivered by BookTrust organisation.

BookTrust who provide this service on behalf of Somerset Council, will, with agreement, use contacts to separately promote their material. Somerset Council is not the data controller for any contact with book start directly or where they are contacting you for their own purposes.

Categories of personal data

Basic personal data (name, early years setting, email, telephone, address) plus specific information relating Bookstart orders and delivery (how many packs required).

Legal basis for processing

Explicit consent and Legitimate Interests: we will also use your data for the purposes of monitoring quality, audit and for dealing with any enquiries or complaints.

Data Sharing

The personal data provided will be shared with Somerset Libraries and BookTrust.

Transfers abroad

Your data will not be transferred abroad.

Data Retention

This data will be retained for a period of two years to meet participation requirements.

Your Rights

You have the right to ask Somerset Council for a copy of your data, the right to rectify or erase your personal data, and the right to object to processing. However, these rights are only applicable if the Council has no other legal obligation concerning that data.
