Purpose of the processing

The personal data is processed to allow the council to run elections and prepare the register of electors. This is done by appointing staff from a database of people who have expressed an interest in working at elections and electoral registration, and from a database of buildings that can be used as polling stations.

Who the data might be shared with

Somerset Council’s outsourced HR and Finance Teams – Capita

How long will the data be kept for

Staff: Until the individual asks to be removed from the staffing database.

Buildings: Until we no longer require the use of the building or the details of the treasurer, keyholder, contact and more for the building has changed.
