The personal data you provide is used to enable the council to deliver services that help with the burials that take place in a Council owned Cemetery. This includes public health burials and the issuing of a deed in respect of a burial plot.

The information collected from the enquirer contains the following:

  • Name, (both deceased and deed holder)
  • Address, (both deceased and deed holder)
  • Email Address, (Deed Holder)
  • Phone Number, (Deed Holder)
  • Payment information, (Deed Holder)
  • Death Certificate
  • Coroners Certificate

Special categories of personal data being processed (if appropriate) – Religion (of deceased only)

Legal basis for processing special categories of personal data – Substantial Public Interest

This information may be shared with:

  • Other council departments
  • Cemetery contractors
  • Police
  • NHS
  • Family Undertaker

How long will the data be kept for

75 years after the closure date of the cemetery.
