Glastonbury Abbey
Description
An historical monument in the centre of Glastonbury Town. The spectacular abbey ruins lie within 36 acres of grounds including two ponds, an array of wildlife and views of Glastonbury Tor. There are over 400 trees across the estate as well as rolling parkland. The lady chapel crypt features a stone altar and the 14th century Abbot’s Kitchen is a medieval octagonal kitchen building and is the only intact building that remains from the original abbey estate. In 2023/24 the main entrance is being refurbished into a modern visitor welcome space.
