Access | Access to the cliff tops is limited and restricted. It is accessible by foot, at either end of the gorge. There is vehicle access to the cliff tops via private tracks in suitable vehicles under the supervision of Cheddar Gorge & Caves staff. |
Access restrictions | The gorge is a popular visitor attraction so access is to be negotiated and dependent on scale and disruption. The area of land on the cliff-tops is owned by Longleat and more controllable, though access still needs to be mindful of tourism/walker use. There are times of year when the use of drone filming is restricted to avoid disturbing roosting birds and wild animals. |
Noise | No noise |
Parking | There are hundreds of parking spaces in car parks near the caves, stretching up the gorge. There is a coach park near the cave that can accommodate larger vehicles used in film sets. |
Parking detail | The parking is owned and operated by the Longleat Estate and is chargeable. It is open to the general public, but areas can be cordoned off for filming use. |
