Description

Weekly cricket sessions aimed at young people aged 12 to 25 with mild/moderate learning difficulties, or a physical disability.

Super 1s is a Lord’s Taverners community programme that gives young people with a disability aged 12-25 the chance to play regular competitive cricket while improving confidence and independence. Somerset Cricket Foundation runs a number of disability cricket sessions across the county, where young people can receive coaching, and allows participants the chance to compete against their peers and enjoy the benefits of playing sport.

Super 1s sessions are free to attend and led by a qualified cricket coach and supported by staff who hold valid DBS certificates. We do not provide 1:1 support, so if a young person requires 1:1 support, this must be provided.

Super 1 sessions also take place in Bath, Bridgwater, Street, Taunton, Weston Super Mare & Yeovil.  With multiple Super 1s sessions across Somerset, we seek to bring all groups together on a regular basis (during the school holidays) so they can ‘compete’ against other Super 1s clubs in a safe, friendly and supportive environment.
