Bins, recycling and waste
Some rubbish and recycling collection dates will change during Christmas and New Year.

Recycling centres
Recycling centres will be open during their usual winter hours, except on Wednesday 25 December, Thursday 26 December, and Wednesday 1 January.

Garden waste
Garden waste collections will be paused from Wednesday 25 December to Tuesday 7 January. The Garden Waste collection service will restart on Wednesday 8 January.

Our phone lines will be closed on the bank holidays but open as usual on other days. You can phone us between 8.30am and 5pm on 0300 123 2224, or use our Video Assistant Link (VAL) service at any open Customer Access Point.
Lifeline, Out of Hours and Emergency Duty Teams
Lifeline, Out of Hours and Emergency Duty Teams will be available throughout the festive period. Phone 0300 123 2224 and listen to the messaging to be directed to these service areas.
Office receptions and Customer Service Points
All council run locations, including our offices, libraries and recycling centres, are closed on bank holidays.
Our office receptions and Customer Service Points will be closed from 3pm on 24 December and re-open on 2 January.
West Somerset House
The Customer Service Point (CSP) at West Somerset House will close at 3pm on Tuesday 24 December and will remain closed for about 10 weeks due to building works. From Thursday 2 January, you can get support from our Customer Service Team in Williton Library during normal opening times.

Libraries
Our libraries will close at 1pm on Tuesday 24 December, and at 4pm on Tuesday 31 December, unless their usual closing time is earlier.
Registration Services
Booking registrations and marriage or civil partnership appointments
Our registration offices are closed on the bank holidays. During this time, we are prioritising customers who need to make appointments to register a death. As a result, it may be more difficult to book appointments for birth registration or notice of marriage or civil partnership appointment.
