Who else can help - for children and young people

  • YoungMinds – Mental Health Charity For Children And Young People is a mental health charity for children and young people and their parents, making sure all young people can get the mental health support they need
  • Kooth – free safe and anonymous tool for young people aged 10 to 18 in Somerset
  • GPs, Health Visitor and health services – if you speak to your GP about your mental health concerns, they can: ask questions about your feelings and thoughts that may help you better understand what you are going through and what support is available

Who else can help - for parent carers

  • Somerset children and  young people – Parent carer toolkit – their website has been designed to support parents and carers to find the information they need to help with their role of ‘being a parent’
  • Home-Start – West Somerset is a voluntary organisation offering support, friendship, and practical help to families at home with children and young people under 7 years old
  • Somerset Parent Carer Forum is an independent not for profit Community Interest Company formed by parent carers
  • Somerset SENDIAS Somerset SENDIAS (Special Educational Needs and Disability Information, Advice and Support) can give children and young people and their parent carers information, advice, and support about SEND. The service is free, confidential, and impartial
  • Parent and Family Support Advisors (PFSAs) work with school-aged children and young people and their families who require additional support. Contact your school pastoral support team for more information
  • Family Intervention Service (FIS) is a specialist county-wide service. It offers support to children and young people from birth up to 18 years and their families where multiple complex issues are present
