SEND Citizen Portal

A request for an Education, Health and Care needs assessment is a lengthy process, with time being taken to schedule, carry out and analyse many different assessments and pieces of evidence. The SEND Citizen Portal is a tool that families can use to track the progress of an Education Health and Care needs assessment at a time that best suits them.

The Citizen Portal is a secure website where sensitive data and information can be shared safely. The SEND Portal is already used by practitioners as part of the EHC needs assessment process to share information.

Once the local authority has agreed to assess a child or young person for an EHC needs assessment, families can track the progress of the assessment using the Citizen Portal.

Parent carers might already have an account if they have used the Citizen Portal to apply for school places. If not, they will need to register. You will need to email us and ask us to add you to the student’s account as a verified user. You can find more detailed instructions in the step-by-step guide.
