Key changes

Five key changes to the area:

  • The war memorial – One of the iconic symbols in Yeovil town centre, the war memorial has been given the respect it deserves by enhancing its surroundings and making it a more fitting setting.
  • Enhanced paving scheme – The paving scheme in The Borough has been enlarged and enhanced using natural stone paving, helping with the flow and general look of the town centre. Vehicle access to Wine Street has been removed using the paving scheme to effect this.
  • New and additional seating – New, additional seating to The Borough has been introduced to allow more people to enjoy this space. There are a range of coffee shops, cafes and shops to visit in this area and with the increased and enhanced paving, the opportunity for entertainment such street performances could now take place here
  • Relocated bus stops – The bus stops here have been retained and improved, resulting in an updated main access point into the town
  • Improved access – We have changed the emphasis in the street towards pedestrians creating a number of clear crossing points around the access points to this public space.
