All Results Now In… So what does it mean for Somerset County Council?
The Liberal Democrats have succeeded in gaining control of Somerset County Council, previously in No Overall Control, continuing their reign in governing the council for what will be their fourth term in office.
Across Somerset, the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats traded seats from each other but the Liberal Democrats gained the upper hand by increasing their majority from 2001 by 1 seat. Labour also lost one seat to the Conservatives in Bridgwater. Overall the Conservatives remain unchanged in their total number of seats.
