Annual Audit and Inspection Letter
The Annual Audit and Inspection Letter has been compiled for the Members of Somerset County Council, in accordance with the requirements of the Audit Commission’s Code of Audit Practice 2000. It summarises the results of the audit and inspection work undertaken at the Council, relating to the stated audit year.
Data Quality Audit
The Council was subject to a Data Quality Audit in summer 2006. The external auditors examined our management arrangements concerning data quality in addition to more detailed accuracy checks on sample data. A copy of our self-assessment can be found below:

The external auditors found our arrangements to be adequate scoring the Council as a level 2 (out of 4). This informs the auditors overall conclusion on value for money which is part of the CPA Use of Resources Assessment. The auditor's detailed findings are shown below:
