Community Directorate
The Community Directorate was launched on 1st April 2005 and brought together:
The aim of the Directorate is to make a difference for communities across the County. Through the development and delivery of services for which we are responsible, we will contribute to making Somerset a vibrant place to live, learn, work in and visit.
The range of services and responsibilities we cover is wide but enables us to influence many of the factors that determine the independence, wellbeing and health of individuals and our communities – work, learning, activity and leisure, staying safe, being included in society, providing choice, celebrating diversity and ensuring that help and support are there for those in greatest need.
